  • Why I Need to Learn the Do It Now Rule

    15784706001578470598

The first image here is of me. This was yesterday when my two days of laundry which had been washed but not folded threw up on me. Paul and I sat and folded everything, but instead of putting it away; we left it on the couch to deal with later.
The second picture is of Sabine nesting in what was once our nicely folded clothes.
Someday procrastination is going to kill me.

  • You’re Welcome.

For all my writing friends out there; the INTERN is a quirky fun blogger who I have been following for about a year. She has some very good insights into writing and publishing all wrapped up in her own code of nonsense.

She has been on a blogitical for the last six months but I recently found this Christmas post in my Google Reader inbox; it is a great lesson in how to fix the engine which drives your manuscript.

  • 2011 Challenges

    Pray. Sing. Write.

This will be my daily mantra. The only thing I want to be purposeful about doing every. single. day.

    Nothing New in 2011

This is a challenge I will be doing with the Lady. The idea is to consume less, repurpose more. We are making it a goal to buy nothing new (with a few exceptions) next year. Everything must be pre-owned, reused and repurposed. If you want to join us in this challenge for the year, I will be blogging and twitting about under #nn11. I will also share my guidelines (think pirate’s code) of the challenge shortly.

    Build a Temple.

Not a literal one of course. This mostly refers to how I treat (or more corectly–abuse) my body. I don’t want to sacrifice living in the name of health, but I do recognize I have some very bad habits which need to be fixed. This is the only body I am going to have for a while, I need to take better care of it.

Happy New Years to you all!

  • 1 John 2:4-6

4 Whoever says I know him but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. #Bible http://j.mp/94yCEN

  • Thank You. #26daysofprayer #decemberblogging

    Today was my birthday.

I celebrated 26 years today with family, friends and warm wishes all around.

If you have been following along and participating in the #26daysofprayer I want to take time to say thank you. This past month has been an amazing time of reflection and confirmation in my life. So thank you for those who have journeyed alongside me and I look forward to where the road leads next.

    Continuing the adventure,

    Jess

  • Deliver Us From the Evil One #26daysofprayer #decemberblogging

    Merry Christmas every one.

I find it very fitting today’s topic is deliverance from the Evil One, because it is exactly what Christ’s birth symbolizes. God’s attack on the domain of Satan through his Son, Jesus.

The deliverance is made manifest when we invite Jesus into our lives as Lord, recognising his sacrifice and power over death.

So today, please don’t just pray for me, but pray for the world. Pray they would see the soverignity of Jesus, pray they would not forget today is a day of deliverance. Pray lives, including mine, would be changed from remembering this.

    Continuing the adventure,

    Jess
