Yesterday, I asked for prayer in being bold about the Kingdom strongholds we have here on earth. I believe one of those strongholds to be marriage. I don’t say it to make marriage out to be better or more necessary than singleness. God gifted each of us differently.
I say it because I don’t know of another institution which can so easily mess people up than marriage. Think about it, you are asking two broken, selfish individuals to live together, work together, be emotionally connected and have sex together. On top of all that, you expect that they will actually like each other too, or at least stick together when they don’t. There are lots of places where Satan can get in if we let our guard down, and it doesn’t just end in our lives. Satan can mess up the people around you through your marriage too.
So today, I would ask for prayer over this strong hold. Please pray Paul and I would always seek God’s will first. Pray God’s abundance of love would allow us to love each other. Pray for protection in our marriage from Satan.
